STEP #02A Create Human Character with MetaHumans

HUMAN with METAHUMAN

The first option is the highest quality but least customizable, and that’s to use MetaHuman Creator for the head and body.

 

 

MAKE BASE CHARACTERS IN “METAHUMAN CREATOR”

Build each character’s basic body one by one using the browser-based metahuman creator.

You’ll want to adjust their gender, height and weight. Make a note of which one of the 18 options you have chosen for each character.

 

Now choose hair. If the type of hair you want isn’t available in MHC, choose the closest style that they have and you can replace it with custom hair later.

 

Now choose skin color and eye color.

 

Before you finish with each character in MHC, it’s important to remove all clothing except sandals. This is because you will be adding custom clothes to each character, and if it already has clothes then it won’t include the skin underneath it. (The sandals are easily removable later, and don’t stop your character’s full skin being saved. )

 

MAKE “PROXY CHARACTERS” FOR iCLONE

For each character in your film, you need to make a proxy character for use in iClone.

 

To do this, download the “Reallusion MetaHuman Kit”, which contains 18 special body dummies – one for each of the metahuman body codes:

 

 

 

Now go through the following process for each of your characters:

In character creator 4, start a new project and add one of the cc 4 premade characters.

Now import the special metahuman body dummy (from the Reallusion metahuman kit) that matches your character. Import the body dummy as a Prop, because you only need it as a visual reference.

Now adjust the body proportions of the cc4 character to exactly match the body dummy.

MAKE UE PROJECT

The next step is to make an unreal Editor project, and then import each metahuman. Make a note of each of your character’s metahuman body code. For example, F_SRT_UNW means female, short, underweight.
